It has been found that MBNA are raising the interest rates it charges to customers who miss repayments. One customer in Donegal who lost his job and had missed 2 repayments found that the interest he was being charged jumped from 14.9% to 25.9%. MBNA maintain that this loading of a customers interest rate is because they feel the customer is now more high risk and therefore that is reflected in the interest charged.
